Most school districts across the Dallas-Fort Worth area will remain closed Monday and Tuesday because of dangerous cold and ice-covered streets following a winter storm, with temperatures forecast to rise above freezing by Tuesday and a likely return to class on Wednesday, district officials and meteorologists said.
School systems including Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Arlington ISD and numerous others have canceled classes for both Monday and Tuesday as hazardous conditions persist on area roadways and sidewalks from accumulated sleet, snow and ice. School closures come amid an Extreme Cold Warning in effect for much of the region through early Tuesday.
