MANSFIELD, La. — A Dallas man lost his life Monday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in DeSoto Parish. Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to the incident around 4:00 p.m. on Louisiana Highway 177 near Louisiana Highway 510.
The victim has been identified as 46-year-old John Hordge. According to preliminary investigations, Hordge was traveling south on LA 177 in a 2014 Ford F-150 when his vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons. The truck struck a guardrail before plunging into a nearby creek and overturning.
State troopers confirmed that Hordge was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. While investigators do not currently suspect impairment, routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis…
