The glass atrium at the historic Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas buckled and shattered late Tuesday night under the heavy weight of snow and ice from this week’s winter storm, authorities and hotel officials confirmed. No injuries were reported, and the area had been closed to guests and staff before the incident occurred.
The collapse took place at 1321 Commerce Street, where the century-old hotel’s ornate atrium spans part of the drawing room area. Crews were on site Wednesday cleaning up debris and working to secure the space for future repairs, the hotel’s public relations team said in a written statement.
