ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Olympic gold medalist and Dallas native Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested early Thursday after authorities say she was driving more than 100 miles per hour and weaving through traffic on a Central Florida highway.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on patrol pulled over a vehicle along State Road 429 near Stoneybrook Parkway. Deputies said the driver was traveling 104 mph, dangerously tailgating other vehicles and moving across lanes of travel to pass other vehicles.
The department identified the driver as Richardson, who was arrested and charged with “Dangerous Excessive Speeding,” a charge that applies when a driver is traveling 100 mph or more…
