DALLAS, Texas – A Dallas County jury has convicted 49-year-old Tivan Jerome Moore of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for a brutal stabbing aboard a Dallas Area Rapid Transit bus in 2023, sentencing him to 24 years in prison.
The verdict was returned Jan. 14, 2026, following a trial in Criminal District Court No. 5. Judge Carter Thompson imposed the sentence. Moore, who also goes by the name “Tiuan” and has resided at times in both Dallas and Texarkana, had been in custody at the Dallas County Jail since his arrest on Aug. 6, 2023.
The charge stems from an attack that occurred Saturday night, Aug. 5, 2023, at approximately 8:10 p.m. According to investigators, Moore and the 46-year-old victim were involved in a verbal dispute at a DART bus stop while other riders looked on.
