Woman shot in leg after attacking vehicles, husband and wife with knife at north Texas gas station

ARLINGTON, Texas — A 58-year-old woman was shot in the leg after allegedly attacking vehicles with a knife at a gas station early Monday morning, according to Arlington police.

Officers responded around 3:50 a.m. to a gas station in the 2600 block of E Lamar Blvd to investigate a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found the woman on the ground with a gunshot wound to her leg. She was transported to a local hospital and is listed in serious condition, stated the police.

Witnesses and surveillance footage revealed that the woman approached a Jeep parked at a pump and began striking it with a knife. A man was pumping gas into the Jeep while his wife was inside the vehicle. The man moved to another nearby vehicle, but the woman followed and continued her attack. The man then retrieved a gun and warned the woman, who continued to advance toward him, prompting him to fire a shot that struck her in the leg, according to the police report…
