Driver critically injured in Garland crash as firefighters rescue occupant from burning car

GARLAND, Texas — A driver was critically injured in a crash on N. Shiloh Road after their vehicle struck a utility pole and caught fire, according to the Garland Police Department.

The incident occurred just after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, when Garland Fire Department Engine 6 crews, en route to another call, discovered the single-vehicle crash. Firefighters promptly stopped, rescued the driver from the burning car, and extinguished the flames.

The driver, who was the sole occupant, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition. No firefighters were injured in the incident…
