BALCH SPRINGS, Texas — A Dallas man has been federally charged in connection with the shooting of a security guard during an attempted armored car robbery at a bank ATM in Balch Springs, according to the FBI.
The robbery attempt happened around 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 5, at the Chase Bank near Balch Springs Road and Lake June Road. Laroyce Antoine Lambert was charged with attempted interference with commerce by robbery, federal authorities announced.
According to court documents, Lambert approached a security guard who was servicing the ATM and demanded access to the cash. When the guard said he could not access the money, Lambert allegedly fired three shots at him and fled the scene on foot through a fence.
