A SWAT warrant operation in West Dallas turned violent Friday morning when a suspect was shot and injured during a confrontation with police. The gunfire erupted shortly after 10:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Shaw Street, near Sylvan Avenue and Canada Drive, after officers arrived to serve a warrant and encountered an armed individual, according to police, according to WFAA.
Police Say SWAT Was Serving a Warrant
As reported by WFAA, officers were met by a suspect who had a gun, and shots were fired by parties who have not yet been publicly identified. Dallas police told WFAA that the suspect was injured during the exchange of gunfire, and that no officers were hurt.
