Dallas ISD has made great strides in student achievement, and during its regular meeting in January, the Board of Trustees gave the district another tool to ensure students are getting the support they need to succeed.
The district has added an additional days school year calendar for 13 elementary schools and for sixth graders in seven middle schools so students can get extra support and spend time exploring activities that will enrich their school experience. The extra days of learning and fun are known as ADSY, and they will take place before the official start of the school year and on select Saturdays.
Elementary students will come to school an additional 10 days in the summer before school starts for everyone else, and also have five Saturday school days spread out through the academic calendar year.
