CALLAHAN, Texas — A 31-year-old Dallas man died after his vehicle collided with a parked truck on Interstate 20 early Friday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The incident occurred at 2:33 a.m. on February 27, 2026, at the 297-milepost eastbound rest area. Samuel Angel Vargas, the driver of a 2007 Honda Civic, was traveling east on IH-20 when he exited into a roadside rest area and collided with the rear of a legally parked commercial truck tractor towing a semi-trailer.
