North Texas auction house presenting original artwork from some of comics’ most legendary artists

DALLAS — A North Texas auction house is offering hardcore comic book fans a chance to collect some rare artwork from some of the most legendary names in the industry this weekend.

From Thursday through Sunday, Heritage Auctions is auctioning off artwork and comic books from such legendary creators as Joe Shuster, Bob Kane, Bill Finger and Roy Thomas.

The auction features copies of some of the most valuable Golden Age comic book issues of all time, including a copy of Action Comics No. 1, the debut of Superman, and a copy of Detective Comics No. 27, the debut of Batman. The copy of Action Comics No. 1, which received a CGC grade of 2.0, sold for $625,250, while the copy of Detective Comics No. 27, CGC graded at 7.0, sold for $2,318,000…
