GARLAND, Texas — Seven people escaped safely after part of a building collapsed in Garland late Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.
Garland Fire Department crews were called to the reported collapse just before 5 p.m in the 2900 block of Kingsley Rd. All seven were able to evacuate the TPI building on their own, and no injuries were reported, according to the department.
Initial reports indicate that recent heavy rainfall in the area appears to be the likely cause of the collapse. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued Wednesday for Dallas County until 11 p.m…
