Texas Original has announced the opening of five new locations across Texas, expanding access to medical marijuana for patients enrolled in the state’s Compassionate Use Program. The expansion includes two satellite facilities in Plano and San Antonio, along with three new pickup locations in Lubbock, Nacogdoches and Tyler. According to the company, the additions will serve an estimated market of more than 14,000 patients by bringing medical marijuana closer to communities that previously required longer travel distances.
Satellite locations differ from traditional pickup sites in that they are authorized to store medical marijuana inventory onsite. Under state law enacted through HB 46, these facilities must be approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety and can maintain product inventory overnight.
