KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Forney woman who closed on her new house last month says she has been without running water because her water provider refuses to activate service until she pays a bill left behind by the previous owner.
Rosylan Lyles purchased the home in Forney’s Travis Ranch neighborhood last month — and found the water had been turned off between when she conducted her final walkthrough and when she went to move in.
When she called to have water turned on, she says Forney Lake Water Supply told her they would not turn on the water unless she paid a months-old $1,373.24 utility bill tied to the property…
