DALLAS — In the span of just a few days earlier this month, four North Texas superintendents announced their resignation, joining a fourth superintendent who announced their retirement last month.
This comes as other school districts in the region are searching for new superintendents, with some are already naming lone finalists pegged to fill those positions.
Here are the superintendents who have announced their stepping down in recent months:
- Frisco ISD Superintendent Mike Waldrip (announced Dec. 21)
- Allen ISD Superintendent Robin Bullock (announced Jan. 13)
- DeSoto ISD Superintendent Usamah Rodgers (announced Feb. 12)
- Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Karen Molinar (announced March 4)
- Prosper ISD Superintendent Holly Ferguson (announced March 9)
- Irving ISD Superintendent Magda A. Hernández (announced March 9)
- Lake Worth ISD Superintendent Mark Ramirez (announced March 10)
Many of these resignations are due to the superintendent retiring, and in two cases, Lake Worth and Fort Worth ISDs, are due to state takeovers.
