64 cats rescued from ‘deplorable’ conditions in Garland home, marking the city’s largest seizure ever

GARLAND, Texas — Garland Animal Services removed 64 cats from “deplorable” conditions, officials said.

The department, along with Garland police, executed a search and seizure warrant at a home and removed the cats from the property, animal services said in a social media post. The seizure was the largest in Garland Animal Services’ history, the post states.

“The conditions these animals were living in were deplorable,” the post states. “The property itself was in extremely poor condition, with dangerously high ammonia levels that required staff to wear respirators while on scene.”…
