Pre-Dawn I-35 Nightmare: Pedestrian Fatally Hit Near Continental Avenue

Northbound I-35 through Dallas’ Stemmons Corridor turned into a crime-scene-style bottleneck this morning after a pedestrian was struck and killed near Continental Avenue, forcing traffic off the freeway and grinding the commute to a crawl.

Dallas County Sheriff’s traffic deputies shut down northbound lanes and funneled drivers to the Continental exit while they investigated the deadly collision. The crash left one person dead and backed up traffic through one of the city’s busiest stretches of interstate.

According to a post from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and the driver cooperated with investigators. Deputies said criminal charges were not pending at the time of the alert. The agency advised motorists to use the Continental Avenue exit and seek alternate routes while crews worked the scene…
