Strong cold front barreling toward Texas to drop temperatures by 55 degrees

It may be unseasonably hot in Texas right now, but a strong cold front barreling toward the Lone Star State will send temperatures nosediving. Many cities will see temperatures drop more than 30 degrees in mere hours and remain cooler for a couple of days, bringing some relief from what feels like an early summer.

From Dalhart to Dallas and down to San Antonio, cooler days are on the horizon. A weekend cold front should cut back those nearly triple-digit highs over the weekend and into early next week.

“Another strong trough will swing through the Northern Plains late this week and send a cold front southward on Friday,” the Dallas-Fort Worth National Weather Service office warns. “This should knock several degrees off of high temperatures Friday into next weekend.”…
