1 person hit, killed after stopping to help another motorist on US 67, officials say

DUNCANVILLE, Texas — One person died on Sunday morning after they were hit by a car while assisting another motorist, officials said.

The crash was reported around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, in the southbound lanes of US 67 at Main Street, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene to find that several crashes had occurred in the area, the sheriff’s office said in a social media post. Investigators found that a person was hit and killed after they got out of their vehicle to assist in one of the crashes, the post states…
