A man was shot last Saturday in the 4600 block of St. Francis Avenue in Dallas and later died at the hospital, turning an otherwise typical weekend evening into a homicide scene in South Dallas.
What the police say
City records list the case as number 044037-2026 and identify the victim as 38-year-old Levett Gilliam. The Dallas Police Department’s NIBRS homicide list shows the incident as an open case logged in the 4600 block of St. Francis Avenue, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officers were called to the area at approximately 8:34 p.m. Saturday. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Gilliam to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. “Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Y.
