Hit-And-Run Horror Leaves Pedestrian Dead On North Central Expressway

A deadly hit-and-run on the North Central Expressway in Old East Dallas left a pedestrian dead yesterday, after a driver struck the person and kept going, according to police. Officers were called around 2:47 a.m. to the 4100 block of North Central Expressway, where the victim was found and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver did not stop, and officials have not yet released the victim’s name.

As reported by The Dallas Morning News, investigators determined that a vehicle hit someone who was walking along the roadway, then fled. Authorities did not immediately provide additional details about the vehicle or the circumstances of the crash.

Local scanner site DFW Scanner logged the early-morning call and noted that Dallas Fire-Rescue and police responded to the scene, briefly shutting down lanes on the freeway. The timing reported there matches the overnight response documented by police and local media.
