DALLAS — A gang member who called himself a drug lord on social media was convicted of drug and gun crimes this week after officials said he “wreaked havoc” on a south Dallas neighborhood, selling hundreds of pounds of drugs from a storefront and marketing a signature strain of marijuana, federal officials said.
A Dallas federal jury on Thursday convicted 40-year-old Jamarian Augustus Hewitt a.k.a. Zillionaire JJ of multiple drug trafficking and firearms crimes after a years-long ATF operation to identify gang members in South Dallas. Hewitt is a member of the Four Deuce Oakland Crip gang, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.
He was convicted of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana, two counts of firearm possession in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, one count of using a cell phone in furtherance of a drug offense, and one count of illegal firearm possession by a convicted felon, according to the release…
