Texas – Governor Greg Abbott announced that a $700,000 grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund has been awarded to the University of Texas at Dallas to support a semiconductor training project on its campus.
According to the announcement, the funding will be used to develop a small-scale training cleanroom in the university’s Research Operations West building. The facility will provide hands-on instruction in cleanroom operations, safety protocols, and semiconductor processing.
State leaders said the project is intended to expand workforce training opportunities and prepare students and new employees for high-demand careers in semiconductor manufacturing and technology.
