One dead, four injured in a fatal crash in Southern Dallas involving a Dallas Fire Rescue vehicle

DALLAS — While responding to an emergency call, a Dallas Fire and Rescue vehicle became involved in an emergency of its own in Southern Dallas Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., the DFR unit slammed into a white minivan at the intersection of Rugged Drive and Savoy Street, just outside Kiest Park.

As of 6:30 p.m., video from WFAA’s helicopter showed the intersection still to be taped off with Dallas police securing the area, and both the DFR vehicle and the civilian vehicle unmoved from each other…
