Patagonia to close Deep Ellum shop after five years

DALLAS — After five years in Deep Ellum, Patagonia is packing up its gear and hiking out of Dallas.

The popular outdoor retailer, which boasts 37 locations across the country according to its own website, opened its only Dallas location — and just its second in Texas — in the prominent Dallas entertainment district in 2021 after first announcing its plans to do so in 2019. The store’s only other Texas location, located on Congress Avenue in Austin, opened in 2008.

In a statement shared with WFAA, Patagonia spokesperson J.J. Huggins said the closure of the Deep Ellum store was the result of “changes in the surrounding neighborhood.”…
