Pooh Shiesty being held in Kaufman County while he awaits trial

DALLAS — Pooh Shiesty’s eventful 2026 in North Texas continues with his official transfer to the custody of authorities in Kaufman County.

The controversial rapper, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., sits in Kaufman County Jail Friday evening and will remain there per ruling by a federal judge in Dallas, who deemed Williams a flight risk after his arrest on April 1 for a reported kidnapping and robbery of fellow rapper and label head Gucci Mane that occurred on Jan. 10 of this year in a Dallas recording studio.

Federal prosecutors are currently formulating their case against Williams and eight other co-conspirators against whom a federal complaint was filed by the Department of Justice.
