DALLAS — The city of Dallas is now in compliance with grant conditions after Gov. Greg Abbott threatened police funding last month, according to a city memo.
The Dallas Police Department made several changes to its general orders after the governor’s office said it would withhold $32.1 million in public safety grants, and possibly more in FIFA funding.
The changes remove rules that prohibited officers from arresting someone because they’re in the country illegally. Now, DPD says if it pulls over with a warrant from Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), it’ll contact the ICE and arrest the person if the agency wants…
