RED OAK, Texas — The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office has announced a shooting involving one of its deputies, which ended in the death of a suspect involved in a disturbance call Wednesday afternoon in Red Oak.
Sheriff Brad Norman of Ellis County wrote in a release late Wednesday that the suspect was transported to an area hospital after the shooting. A standoff occurred after a deputy commanded an adult male to drop a firearm when deputies arrived at a residence in the 100 block of Carol Lane after being dispatched at approximately 3:30 p.m.
