The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a scam involving jury duty, alleged warrants and court appearances that’s being reported with increasing frequency throughout the county.
The office says that one such scam sees the caller identify themselves as Lt. Keith Collins with the MCSO before claiming that the recipient has a federal warrant out for their arrest. The call was placed from 937-646-2367.

Other reports have seen scammers falsely identify themselves as a member of the MCSO and claim that the recipient has missed their jury duty date or scheduled court appearance. The caller then demands payment.
