DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man has pleaded guilty to a charge of bank robbery in federal court this Wednesday.
The man, 62-year-old John Donald Butler was indicted back in April in the Southern District of Ohio. Officials said Butler has over twenty previous federal bank robbery convictions, including in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.
Per the court documents, Butler entered the Miamisburg Key Bank on Monday, March 30 at approximately 2:45 p.m. He was dressed in a construction worker’s outfit and slipped a note to the teller. He also ordered the teller to empty the top drawer and threaten them to not include dye packs with the cash. Butler received over $9k in cash and fled from the bank.
