Rainy weekend dampens sales for vendors at Dayton African American Festival

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Rain that sends festivalgoers scrambling for umbrellas can have much bigger consequences for small businesses, and some vendors at the Dayton African American Festival felt that impact after on-and-off rain moved through south Ohio and nearby areas.

The festival, held at Island MetroParks, was expected to draw a strong turnout. But with rain in the forecast and Island Park in a flood-prone area, organizers posted on social media that Saturday’s festivities were cut short.
