On Friday, September 4, 2026, a severe storm with wind gusts reaching 70 mph tore through Oakwood, Ohio. A tree near a ranch-style home on E. Thruston Boulevard gave way, took a power line down with it, and within minutes the attic was burning.
A woman and her dog got out. An Oakwood officer helped them. The house did not survive.
