A vehicle slammed into a parked pickup truck in West Alexandria on Sunday, driving the truck into the front porch of a home and leaving the structure at risk of collapse. Speed and alcohol are suspected as contributing factors, according to West Alexandria Fire & EMS, and at least one person was injured in the crash.
The collision happened in West Alexandria, according to local reporting from WHIO TV. The impact sent the parked pickup crashing into the home’s porch, and firefighters called in Boone Restoration, a disaster recovery company based in Clayton, Ohio, to stabilize the structure before the truck could be safely removed, per the same report. The porch roof was at risk of collapse, and crews worked to secure it before towing services cleared the vehicle from the scene.

The repeated incidents have put a spotlight on the village’s main thoroughfare. West Alexandria police issued public speed warnings along West Dayton Street in June after citing a driver going 57 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to earlier Hoodline reporting. West Alexandria Fire & EMS is again encouraging drivers to slow down, drive sober, and get a designated driver.
