DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The city of Kettering is sharing information on resources for people affected by the flooding on Sunday.
These resources include help for affected residents to recover, report property damage and access assistance for repairs / insurance claims.
“Residents whose homes or property were damaged are encouraged to contact the City’s Planning and Development Department. Inspectors will provide written damage assessments that residents can use for insurance purposes,” wrote officials. “Assessments are available to any resident with storm or flood damage, whether or not the property is in a designated flood hazard area.”
There also is information on community, county and state resources for the following:
- Home repairs
- Sewer backups
- Insurance questions
- Property tax relief
Those affected are also being encouraged to report damage to Montgomery County through its Public Damage Assessment Form, so it can trace the impact across the area. (Reporting to the county supplements, but does not replace, contacting Kettering itself.)…
