Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus in Trotwood

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Public Health: Dayton and Montgomery County Mosquito Control program has found mosquitoes positive for West Nile Virus in Trotwood and will spray this Thursday.

Officials said the mosquito control program is designed to teach people about:

  • Diseases mosquitoes can carry
  • Protecting themselves from mosquito bites
  • Reducing the mosquito population

It will begin spraying at 735 East Main Street, around the Goodwill building parking lot, on Oct. 1, at dusk, weather permitting. Signs will be placed at the other areas covered, including:

  • Beardsley Road
  • Burman Road
  • Redway Circle
  • Macgregor Drive

“The Environmental Protection Agency has evaluated Anvil 2 2 ULV, and determined that using it according to label guidelines, in residential areas, including in and around gardens and over non-organic agricultural crop areas, does not pose a significant risk to people or animals,” wrote Public Health…
