Ex-Richmond resident sentenced to 20 years for role in fatal overdose

RICHMOND, IN — An Ohio man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a fatal overdose in Wayne County.

Jodie Thomas Jr., 41, of Dayton, had pleaded guilty to dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, a Level 1 felony carrying up to 40 years in prison. The guilty plea was entered after Thomas negotiated a deal with the Wayne County prosecutor’s office.

Wayne Superior Court 2 Judge Gregory Horn recently imposed the 20-year sentence. Thomas was also given credit for 117 days already spent in custody…
