TROY, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The entire Miami Valley is preparing for the total solar eclipse on April 8, including the City of Troy.
Troy will host two events for the solar eclipse coming in April — on the day before and on the day of.
Festivities will begin on Sunday, April 7 around 4:30 p.m. with “A Night in the Stars.” Visitors can attend two live music events in downtown Troy. The Hanky Panks and then STRANGER are scheduled to perform.
Schools across U.S. give day off for 2024 solar eclipse
Then, on the day of the eclipse, residents can attend “Eclipse in the Square” from noon to 3 p.m. Everyone is encourage to join together to witness the celestial phenomenon in downtown Troy.
More music is scheduled for Monday including activities for kids. Solar eclipse glasses will be available to those in attendance.
Throughout the events, vendors will be in downtown to offer food, beverages, and shopping.
The city encourages residents to attend for a chance to view the once-in-a-lifetime eclipse together with friends and family.
