Mary McDonald to remain on ballot after LaRose rejects protest

Former Trotwood Mayor Mary McDonald will remain on the ballot in Montgomery County .

Early Monday morning, the Board of Elections shared with WDTN the decision by Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

He has voted to reject a protest that sought to remove McDonald from the ballot – accusing her of failing to file the proper paperwork.

With that vote, McDonald will remain on the ballot as a Republican.

She is set to hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Monday.
