Suspect wanted for running over girlfriend, severing her ankle

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A suspect is wanted on felonious charges following a pedestrian strike that seriously injured one woman Monday night.

Darius Thomas is wanted for felonious assault for running over his girlfriend, leaving her ankle completely severed from her leg. He then fled the scene of the incident at Salem Beverage.

Thomas was last seen heading eastbound on Hillcrest towards Salem Ave. in a 2013 Kia Soul with Ohio license plate “KAP 5082.” Authorities say the car has significant front and hood damage.

Around 10 p.m. Monday, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch received a call with reports of a “pedestrian crash.” Upon arrival, police found seriously injured the 29-year-old victim.

She was then transported to Kettering Health Dayton for treatment.

Findings from an initial investigation point to an argument between the victim and Thomas. During the dispute, Thomas allegedly got into his vehicle and drove into her.
