‘It was scary;’ Multiple people recovering after apparent drug overdoses on UD campus

Four people are recovering from apparent drug overdoses that took place on the University of Dayton’s campus.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00, the school sent a letter to the student body that two students and two people not connected to the school had to be treated.

Students who live on the bloc right across the street from the dorm where this happened said sophomores live there.

“It’s really sad just because, like they’re young students like your daughter, or son can get taken away in a second,” Aaliyah Rios said.

Every student News Center 7 talked to had the same reaction.

“I was just worried about everyone being safe,” Paige Habchiti said.

Students said what happened is sad and worrisome, but also that the overdoses are frightening.

“It was scary I heard it was laced or something,” Habchiti said.

In a statement from UD, the school says the four people “exhibited signs of an overdose of an unknown substance.” Students told News Center 7 they heard what the “substance” was.
