DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — 11 students from University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) are going to the Big Game. One of them is a graduate of Northmont High School.
Logan Rolfes, a sports marketing and management major, spoke with 2NEWS about the opportunity.
“I’m ready to go, I’m super excited,” Rolfes says through a smile.
Although he’s never attended the Big Game, Rolfes is no stranger to big sporting events, having sharpened his skills through work opportunities at the NCAA Final Four and an internship with the Chicago Bears.
This year marks the sixth time that students from the University will have the opportunity to intern at the Big Game. A chance for juniors and seniors to bolster their marketing and management skills.
The Super Bowl is set — Mahomes and the Chiefs will face Purdy and the 49ers
Phil Gunder, an instructor within the Sports Marketing and Management program at UNOH, spoke to the uniqueness of working at such an event.
Gunder said that “to be able to put something on a resume that says, you know, they worked and volunteered at a Super Bowl, when you are trying to get a job in sports. I mean, that’s a conversation starter in itself.”
