DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A deal allegedly conducted between PUCO staff and AES Ohio could be in jeopardy of elimination.
AES Ohio and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio are accused by the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel of holding a meeting behind closed doors to determine a settlement against AES Ohio. In the deal, the utility company and PUCO reportedly came to an agreement on a $10,000 settlement.
The settlement was reportedly warranted for AES Ohio’s alleged failure to provide reliable services to 590,000 customers in 2019 and 2020, the OCC says.
Public comments wanted for potential future ODOT projects
A statement from the OCC in its motion in the case says consumers were not protected, and the settlement does not do its due diligence in comparison to what AES Ohio is accused of.
