Central State University appoints new president

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Central State University announced the appointment of its 10th president on Friday morning.

Dr. Morakinyo A.O. Kuti, Ph.D., has been appointed as the new president of Central State University . After a nationwide search, the university’s own vice president for Research and Economic Development was selected.

“Kuti brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to his new role,” CSU said in a release .

With an educational background in finance and public policy, Kuti also served as director of Land-Grant programs previously. His prior work has helped Central State achieve significant growth and acclaim.

“Dr. Kuti’s dedication is evident in his successful efforts to secure funding, enhance physical infrastructure, and support faculty research,” the release said.

Kuti’s appointment was officially announced on the morning of Friday, Feb. 9 in the University Student Center Ballroom on campus.
