Shots fired call turns to investigation into ‘blast’ in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Police are currently investigating a call regarding shots fired in Dayton.

According to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, the call came in just after 9 p.m. regarding shots fired in the 4700 block of Prescott Ave.

2 NEWS crews are on the scene where the area is currently blocked off. Officers, police cruisers and an ambulance have been spotted.

While on the scene, 2 NEWS crews learned from law enforcement they thought shots were fired based on the original call. Upon investigation, it was determined a “blast” had occurred instead.

The cause of the “blast” remains under investigation by the Dayton Bomb Squad.

There are no reported injuries and only minor property damage.
