LEBANON, OH — Over the years I’ve seen and heard coyotes in my Lebanon subdivision on the east edge of town, but I think it has been about a year since they’ve made me aware of their presence. Nevertheless I was advised this morning of a coyote jumping a neighbor’s fenced back yard and threatening two pet dogs. With considerable animated forcefulness and determination the neighbor was able to drive the coyote back out of her yard and rescue her dogs. The coyote remained outside the fence for a while assessing the situation. This is not the first such local occurrence. There have been other coyote attacks in my neighborhood resulting in the death of two dogs and serious injuries to others.
