2 people hospitalized after fiery crash in Mad River Township

MAD RIVER TWP., Ohio ( WDTN ) — The Springfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a serious injury crash that happened Sunday, March 10.

The crash took place at approximately 3:49 a.m. on Haddix Road, north of Johnson Street. Preliminary investigations reveal a 2007 Hummer H3, was traveling northeast and lost control.

The Hummer traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a utility pole and tree before overturning and catching on fire.

The driver was transported by ground ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger was transported by air ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor involved in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
