Huber Heights appoints new IT Director at city council meeting

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio ( WDTN ) — At the Huber Heights City Council meeting Monday evening, a new IT Director was appointed after months of vacancy.

Huber Heights has been looking to fill this role throughout its response to a city-wide ransomware attack last November .

This person is currently located in Indiana but is set to begin the role in the next 30 days.

Huber Heights Fire Chief addresses EMS billing change

City Manager Rick Dzik said in January that once hired, the new IT Director would be tasked with creating a plan to help prevent future attacks.

In Monday’s city council meeting, the city’s fire chief also received authorization to issue a request for proposals for a new third-party emergency billing service. The city has been without a provider since its former EMS billing provider, Change Healthcare, terminated its services.
