Trial date set for man accused of stabbing girlfriend 30 times

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A trial date has been set for the man accused of stabbing his girlfriend 30 times.

According to court documents, Javon Owensby faces trial later this year, starting Sept. 16.

Owensby has pleaded not guilty to several charges, including attempted murder, felonious assault and domestic violence.

He’s accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend in her head, neck and back, with court documents saying a piece of the knife was stuck in her brain. She was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

Owensby is being held on a $1 million bond.
