Home for just a day, Joffrey gets adopted to his forever home

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — After months of intensive recovery in Columbus, Joffrey returned to Dayton on Monday — but there’s another happy update for the cat.

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton announced on Wednesday that Joffrey has been adopted less than a day after returning to the Miami Valley .

The adopter was one of the first to treat Joffrey at the emergency facility he was taken to by police. When she checked on his progress upon his return, moved by his resilience and eager to give him the love he deserved, she filled out an adoption application.

Joffrey will continue to face challenges, but his new owner says she is determined to provide him with the ongoing care and affection he needs.

The Humane Society says the community never waivered in their support for Joffrey, with donations flooding in for his medical expenses, and encouraging messages on social media.

Those wishing to honor Joffrey’s journey and support animals in need are asked to consider donating to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton at www.hsdayton.org/donate .
